A gaunt thing that was human once — a forge-orphan colossus, towering and gaunt. Clad in cracked lacquered bone plate; unreadable water-worn grooves. Wearing a funeral veil pinned with bone; bearing a harpoon with a coiled line. Marked by a jaw bound in leather straps; it carries a string of pierced coins gone green. Wreathed in candle-glow beneath the skin, its colors sulfur yellow and soot. Caught weapon shouldered, at ease — curious the way fire is curious. The mark rides the left side; its relic is carried openly, trimmed with a full ring of knuckle-bones.
